About The Orange Tabby

The Orange Tabby is one of the tea houses listed in San Jose, California. The business is registered at 1344 Ridder Park Dr, San Jose, CA 95131; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip.

Hours at these spots often run into the evening, later than a typical coffee shop, and many stay open on weekends when demand is highest in San Jose. Seasonal and limited-time drink or dessert flavors are common, so a shop's current menu can differ from what is posted online; checking recent photos or calling ahead helps. Some locations in California are dessert-only with no seating, meant for takeout, while others have cafe-style seating for staying a while. Straws for bubble tea are typically wide to accommodate the toppings, and are provided automatically unless you ask for a regular one. Loyalty apps and stamp cards are common at chain locations, and ordering ahead through an app can shorten a wait considerably at busy locations during peak after-school and after-dinner hours.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Wednesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file. Its website is theorangetabby.net, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 56 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded tea houses in San Jose.

A lovely tea house with high-quality mochi, coffee, and milk tea. I really appreciate their eco-friendly approachβ€”using only reusable glass cups and straws instead of disposable ones. The drinks and treats are thoughtfully made, and it’s a cozy place to relax and enjoy a nice break.

This is probably my favorite matcha cafe in the South Bay Area, and probably top three in the whole of the San Francisco Bay Area. It's just great quality matcha, a fair price. It's a little hidden gem. The owner's nice. They do glass straws, no plastic cups, mason jars. And they encourage you to bring your own takeout cup, so no waste, no plastic, no paper. And they have a house matcha latte, which I love. Really great umami, good nuttiness, crisp astringency, minimal bitterness. Then their premium matcha latte is bold, luxurious, smooth, decent umami, nice sweetness, and just really, really good. No bitterness at all. For the price, $7 for the house matcha latte, $8.50 for the premium matcha latte, then an extra dollar for an extra shot, which I always get. So you're paying for a really good-sized, really tasty matcha latte for under $10, which some shops will, for the same quality, will ask you for more than $10. There are some shops that I think I've paid $12 or $13 for and isn't even half as good as this. I would definitely recommend this place, as it is just fantastic, and the owner's nice as well. So yeah, check it out, guys. It's definitely worth the drive from anywhere in

The Orange Tabby counter serves some of the smoothest, most refreshing matcha in the Bay Area. The Yuzu Matcha Tonic and Strawberry Matcha are standout favoritesβ€”perfectly balanced and fully plant-based. Plus, their commitment to sustainability with reusable glassware is highly impressive. The vibe is peaceful, clean, and minimalist, with a small market attached for unique Taiwanese groceries. The staff is exceptionally warm and welcoming.

Following a big heavy hotpot meal, my partner and I were looking for a good matcha spot to pick us back up. We stumbled upon this little cafe on google maps and decided to give it a try. This place is such a hidden gem. They strive for sustainability, so they only use glass containers(which definitely makes it pretty expensive), but you can also bring your own container as well. The matcha itself is decent. Not as creamylicious as I would hope, but definitely not terrible and it is such a cute little set up.

Cute relaxing cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. I got the yuzu matcha and it was very refreshing and delicious! Great drink for a hot day! Cafe is eco friendly and you can bring your own cup to reduce waste or purchase a glass cup. There’s also a cafe with vegan menu, a section with ready to go side dishes, and a little vegan market inside!
